We expect to be free from the judgment of, opposition from and contention with those who believe:
- that it is wrong and impossible for those on earth to make accurate judgments about others,
- that no one on earth has “a corner on the truth”,
- that no one on earth has the only correct interpretation of the Scriptures,
- that no one on earth can be trusted and followed,
- and that by virtue of believing that which is superior they are not superior to those who believe that which is inferior.
Should we find ourselves in conflict with anyone who adheres to any of these beliefs, or gives evidence of believing these things while denying it, we will have nothing to do with such people. They are hypocrites who have an unhealthy interest in controversy which benefits no one.
Those who describe us with the word “cult”, or describe what we do with words such as “brainwashing” or “mind control” are thoughtless and have no motive other than to pick a fight. We will ignore and avoid such people.
Should you determine that we need instruction, correction or rebuke to bring us into agreement with our Lord we expect you to address us in the spirit of service to and love for us which our Lord has demonstrated. If you believe that it is our Lord who compels you to instruct, correct or even rebuke us (love is firm), then should we fail to agree with you we expect you to conclude that we are hypocrites and have nothing to do with us.
Furthermore, though we will attempt to clarify our beliefs for those whom we deem to be seeking the truth, we will not argue with anyone on the following elementary, self-evident truths:
- God is patient with but intolerant of those who disagree and contend with him.
- “Agreement to disagree” is pure non-sense and will never result in peace.
- Nothing is true by virtue of the length of time it has been believed, nor by the number of those who believe it.
- A lie is a lie regardless of the intention of the believer/communicator.
- Unless one is God (the One before all others and the Creator of all that exists) one is a follower.
- The individual lives or dies by their own beliefs, not the beliefs of others..
- All are indoctrinated, and indoctrination is not evil in and of itself.
- No one is charged with making converts of others.
